A unique workshop on ‘Neem Project’ was organized with Gujarat livelihood promotion company [GLPC] at Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management (GIDM) on 26/04/2017.

Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company (GLPC) is a state level organization headed by senior IAS officer. At District level; District Development Officers (DDO) and Director, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) oversee the livelihood activity through District Livelihood Manager (DLM) and Taluka Livelihood Manager (TLM).

In the workshop, Director – DRDA, DLMs, TLMs, Village Officers (VO) and Community Resource Persons (CRP) from GLPC from all over Gujarat were present.

Women Torch bearers of Neem Project from GLPC Patan, Gandhinagar & Bharuch narrated their past experiences and planning for the project. Their success stories motivated all for this year’s aggressive campaign.

Shri J.G. Hingrajia (MD, GLPC), in his speech gave assurance that this year GLPC will be helpful in collecting 15,000 MT Neem Seeds. He declared that all infrastructural and monetary help will be given by GLPC for the Neem Project.

In a very inspiring address to the audience of more than 370 people; DR. RAJIV KUMAR GUPTA, MD, GNFC& PS, Labour & Employment, Govt. of Gujarat explained in detail the background and importance of Neem Project. He emphasized that for sustainable livelihood of women, GNFC is doing this project. How the Neem Revolution will happen was effectively narrated by him. He also explained Neem products and their advantages thoroughly.
In Gujarat GNFC have planned to start more than 3000 no’s of village level collection centers[VLCC] in coordination with GLPC.
